ABOUT THE GARDEN
The vision for the Farmville Community Garden is to promote community through participation, sharing, and education of the farm to table experience.
On the site of a formerly vacant lot, the Farmville Community Garden teaches organic gardening practices, nourishes community spirit, and provides nutritious food for the residents of Farmville, North Carolina. The community garden broke ground early in 2016 on ground provided by the town. Today, the garden grows fresh, healthy produce for residents, volunteers, and local outreach organizations.
The goals are:
-
Provide access to fresh fruits and vegetables
-
Encourage healthy lifestyle through nutrition, exercise, education and fellowship
WELCOME to your community garden!

HOW IT WORKS
Our garden is run by volunteers and guided by a leadership board made up of hobby and master gardeners. Community rows and growing areas serve as shared educational space and most of the produce grown there is donated. There are also plots/boxes available for adoption by individuals, families, and groups to grow what they want to harvest.
